Staffing solutions
Temporary & supply recruitment
We maintain a compliant pool of temporary education staff across the UK for urgent shifts — and we specialise in fixed-term, term-time recruitment that protects continuity for schools and pupils.
Two pathways
Urgent cover and planned continuity
Unplanned absence does not pause pupil progress — and neither should a maternity, secondment or long-term sickness gap. Zentar Education supports both: same-day supply from a ready-to-deploy pool, and carefully matched fixed-term appointments that keep classrooms stable for a full term or academic year.
Urgent & same-day
Temporary & urgent supply
A maintained, nationwide pool of pre-vetted teachers, TAs, HLTAs, cover supervisors and SEND specialists — ready for same-day and short-notice shifts when sickness, training days or unexpected gaps hit the timetable.
- Early-morning cover desks and priority escalation for critical gaps
- Named professionals matched to phase, subject and SEND cohort
- Briefed on behaviour scripts, medical notes and class context before arrival
- Block bookings when a short pattern of cover beats day-to-day booking
Term-time stability
Fixed-term & term-time cover
We specialise in fixed-term recruitment for term-time need — maternity cover, long-term sickness, secondments and project roles — so schools and students get stability, not a revolving door of unfamiliar faces.
- Clear start and end dates aligned to your term calendar
- Matching for classroom practice, not just availability
- Midpoint check-ins on longer bookings to catch friction early
- Pathways into permanent search where a fixed-term role becomes substantive
For schools and pupils
Stability that protects learning
Every placement is judged on suitability for the room — key stage, subject rotation, SEND banding and the behaviour culture of the school — so cover strengthens continuity rather than disrupting it.
- Consistent adults for longer bookings, so pupils know who is coming in
- SEND-aware matching for 1:1, small-group and specialist settings
- Commercial clarity for leadership and business manager sign-off
- Named consultants who understand your cover pattern across the year
Compliance
A compliant pool, kept ready
Safer recruitment sits upstream of every temporary and fixed-term placement. We maintain a compliant pool so urgent cover does not mean cutting corners — and fixed-term starts are not delayed by last-minute paperwork.
Before we put someone forward, we typically hold:
- Proof of identity and right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS with children’s barred list (update service where applicable)
- Prohibition from teaching / TRA checks for teachers
- Qualification evidence — QTS, PGCE, degrees, TA/HLTA awards, SEND training
- Recent professional references speaking to classroom practice and safeguarding conduct
- Overseas police checks where employment history requires them
Workers acknowledge your code of conduct and relevant school policies before day one where required. Compliance packs are formatted for ease of use by school HR and leadership.
Accreditations & frameworks
Framework-accredited education recruitment
Schools and trusts need partners who meet public-sector procurement and safeguarding expectations — not just fill a rota. Our temporary, supply and fixed-term delivery sits within recognised accreditation and supplier frameworks.
Government Commercial Agency framework
We are Government Commercial Agency (GCA) Framework accredited for education workforce supply — supporting schools and trusts that need temporary and permanent recruitment through approved commercial routes.
Safer recruitment standards
Enhanced DBS, TRA / prohibition checks, identity and right-to-work validation, and professional references are maintained so your temporary and fixed-term workforce remains audit-ready.
Quality systems
ISO-aligned quality and health & safety practice sit behind our recruitment processes, with transparent commercial terms for leadership and business manager sign-off.
Industry memberships
We work to the standards expected by education and staffing governance bodies — including safer jobs / ethical recruitment commitments — so compliance is continuous, not reactive.
GCA Framework accredited
Government Commercial Agency Framework accreditation underpins our temporary, supply and specialist education recruitment offer — giving schools and multi-academy trusts a clear, compliant route to book urgent cover and fixed-term strength.
