Zentar Health & Social Care
Safeguarding at Zentar
Keeping people safe. Strengthening wellbeing. Acting with care.
Everyone connected to our services deserves to feel secure, heard, and treated with respect. Safeguarding is not a side process for us — it sits inside recruitment, induction, supervision, and everyday delivery so concerns are spotted early and handled without delay.
Our safeguarding framework
Protection is built into how we lead, train, and operate — not left as paperwork on a shelf. Families, commissioners, and colleagues should know that worries will be listened to, investigated with care, and followed through professionally.
We do not tolerate abuse in any form. Our teams work to lower risk, uphold rights, and keep person-centred practice at the heart of every decision.
The framework sets clear expectations from board and clinical leadership through to frontline colleagues and temporary workers. Everyone understands their duty to notice concerns early, record them accurately, and escalate through agreed routes so the right people can act without delay.
It also connects safer recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing learning. That means safeguarding is reinforced at every stage of the workforce journey — not only when something has already gone wrong — and that lessons from incidents, feedback, and audits feed back into stronger day-to-day practice.
Where our services sit alongside local authorities, NHS partners, schools, or family carers, we share information appropriately and work transparently so people are protected across the whole pathway, not just within one organisation’s walls.
How we safeguard people
-
Clear policies & procedures
Current safeguarding policies set out expected practice and stay aligned with UK legislation, statutory guidance, and regulatory standards across the settings we support.
-
Training & awareness
Mandatory safeguarding learning — with regular refreshers — helps every colleague recognise signs of harm, respond calmly, and report concerns with confidence.
-
Reporting & escalation
Defined internal routes make sure concerns reach the right manager quickly and, where needed, are referred to local authorities, NHS partners, or other statutory agencies.
-
Partnership working
We collaborate with families, commissioners, safeguarding leads, and clinical partners so information is shared appropriately and people stay protected across the whole pathway.
Safeguarding adults & children
Our duty of care covers both adults who may be at risk and children and young people where our workforce or community services touch their lives.
Processes are adapted to the people and environments we support — including mental health, learning disability, autism, rehabilitation, hospital and community pathways, and home-based care. Decisions stay person-centred and proportionate, with dignity, choice, and independence protected wherever it is safe to do so.
Speaking up & whistleblowing
Openness keeps people safer. Staff, people we support, and families are encouraged to raise worries about safety or quality without fear of being dismissed or disadvantaged.
Our whistleblowing arrangements allow concerns to be shared confidentially. Each matter is treated with respect, investigated promptly, and closed out with clear communication wherever that is appropriate.
